Present position: full-time associate professor at the University of Padua Scientific macrosector and sector: 05/I2 (Microbiology) e BIO/19 (Microbiology) Affiliated to: Department of Biology (http://dept.bio.unipd.it/main) Research Unit: Human Genetics and Functional Genomics Formation and professional roles: Laurea in Scienze Biologiche (1981, 110/100 cum laude, University of Padua) Specialization in Alimentation Sciences (3-year post-degree school, University of Padua Co-founder of Bioprogramm (1985, www.bioprogramm.it) PhD in Genetic Sciences (1987, one of six national positions) Selected eligible for teaching in national calls and permanent role of teacher in Natural sciences, Chemistry and Geography in the public Italian High Secondary School (1987-1991) Selected eligible for Associate professorship in 05/C1 Ecology e 05/I1 Genetics and Microbiology in 2012 (ASN-MIUR) Permanent role of researcher in Genetics (BIO/18) at the Department of Biology, University of Padua (since 11.01.1991) Associate professor in Microbiology (since 01.03.2017) Main activities at May 2023: Founder member acting for the initial development of biological services in Bioprogramm (www.bioprogramm.it) Teaching role in the Italian public high secondary school and in the University of Padua Padova (in UniPD: Genetics, Applied genetics, Genetic and environmental toxicology and similar courses, regularly from the year 1991 to the present time). Tutor/Co-tutor of about 60 university degree thesis in biological disciplines and of 5 PhD thesis(one co-tutored at UniTS); hosting laboratory for the training of a foreign students: graduated (from Egypt) and PhD students (from Spain, France, Portugal, Iran), and PostDoc (1 India) (short or medium term visits); proposal evaluator in the EU FP5; committee member for PhD exams in Italy and abroad and for national comparative evaluations for the position of university researcher; member of the Italian Society of Environmental Mutagenesis, also serving in the Scientific Committee (1998-2001), member of the Italian Genetics Society and other national and international scientific societies. Author/co-author of about 96 peer-reviewed papers, 10 contributes in volume, and at least 181 posters or communications at national and international scientific meetings. Reviewer of manuscripts for scientific ISI journals, national and international research projects, and for PhD thesis. Direct responsibility (partner or P.I.) in regional and national research projects; subcontractor in a EU FP5 project, partner in European projects FP6, FP7, H2020 and in one transborder cooperation project (IT-SLO 2007-2013). Currently working in VIRIDE (PRIN 2017) e PNRR projects.
