We are pleased to invite you to the 2nd Padua-Mit-Innsbruck “Mitochondrial Conference” that will be held on September 12-14th 2017, in Padua. The meeting is in its second edition and it is intended for young researchers from the Universities of Padova and Innsbruck to consolidate pre-existing collaborations, to create new ones, and to exchange expertise in the field of mitochondrial physiology and pathophysiology.

One of the major goals of this conference is to train young scientists. This is reflected in the format of the meeting, where oral presentations by young scientists will be the core component of the Scientific Program, while the role of established Investigators will be to chair sessions and promote discussion.

The program, although preliminary, includes contributions from keynote speakers and prominent representatives from established European mitochondrial groups, including the Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research (CNIC) in Madrid, Spain (Prof. Antonio Enriquez) and the CECAD Research Center, University of Cologne, Germany (Profs Thomas Langer and Aleksandra Trifunovic).

The program will also include a plenary lecture, selected talks from abstracts and poster session.

The meeting is supported by the Universities of Padua and Innsbruck. This year we are very grateful to be scientifically guested by the Department of Biology of the University of Padua, which hosts world leader researchers in the field of mitochondrial biology.

Selected topics are: Mitochondrial (dys)function during stress and aging, Mitochondrial dynamics and genome instability, Bioenergetic, Mitochondrial metabolism and signalling, Mitochondrial quality control in health and diseases, Mitochondria and cancer.

Organizing Committee: Maria Eugenia SorianoElena Ziviani, Luigi Leanza.
