Founded in 1222, the University of Padova is one of the oldest in Europe. Read more about its history.
Padova is a city of important historical tradition and culture. There are many important monuments and sites to discover.
The Complex Vallisneri is an inter-departmental building. It is located in a modern area (700 m from the Railway Station), but it is close to the historical centre of the town: 10-15 min walking distance from the Scrovegni's Chapel (with the frescoes painted by Giotto), and only 3 min from the ancient gate Porta Portello, which is part of the 16th century Venetian Walls of Padova.
Where to stay: we suggest the following hotels but a complete list is available here. Please note that for most of the listed hotels a special fare is agreed with the University of Padova in favour of invited persons and meeting participants (ask at the moment of reservation).
