Proposta di tesi per una laurea magistrale in Biologia Evoluzionistica da svolgere presso la stazione di biologia marina di Villefranche sur Mer (Francia).

Titolo della proposta: DIFFERENZIAMENTO DEGLI EMOCITI DI BOTRYLLUS SCHLOSSERI

Oggetto della ricerca: Sfruttare i dati scRNAseq sulle cellule mesinchimali di Botryllus schlosseri (Lebel et al. 2025, bioRxiv) per abbinare i morfotipi cellulari agli transcriptomic cell states e, idealmente, ricostruire le tappe di differenziamento e il destino cellulare della linea degli emociti di B. schlosseri, con un possibile confronto tra FACS su cellule vive e cellule fissate seguendo l'approccio adottato in Scully et al. 2025 (bioRxiv).

Title of the proposal: DIFFERENTIATION OF HEMOCYTES IN BOTRYLLUS SCHLOSSERI

Research outline: The project aims to exploit scRNAseq data on mesenchymal cells of Botryllus schlosseri (Lebel et al. 2025, bioRxiv) to match cellular morphotypes with transcriptomic cell states and, ideally, reconstruct the differentiation steps and cellular fate of the hemocyte lineage in B. schlosseri. The project will also include a comparison between FACS analyses on live versus fixed cells, following the approach used in Scully et al. 2025 (bioRxiv).
