FUNDING 2008-2010 Principal Investigator: research grant from the University of Padua for a 3-year project on the transcriptomic analysis of Colorado Potato beetles and differential gene expression between populations resistant and those susceptible to neonicotinoids. Funding covered the creation of a bioinformatics team of a post-doctoral fellows and undergraduate students. 2007-2009 Principal Investigator: research grant awarded by the Academy of Finland to fund work on the maintenance of genetic variability in animals with asexual reproduction. Funding covered the creation of a team of researchers including Ph.D. candidates and a post-doctoral fellow to undertake a four-year research project. TEACHING 2007 – present Molecular Phylogenies for post-graduate students of Evolutionary Biology, University of Padua. 2006-2011 Aspects of Life History Evolution in Animals for post-graduate students of Marine Biology, University of Padua. MENTORING I had mentored 2 post-doctoral fellows, 6 PhD students and 18 master students. I am coordinating an Erasmus student exchange program with the University of Jyväskylä in Finland.
